The Glycaemic Index (GI) is the scientifically proven way of ranking carbohydrates, like breads, breakfast cereals, rice, pasta, noodles, fruit, starchy vegetables, legumes, milk and yoghurt according to how they affect your blood glucose (sugar) levels. Carbohydrates with a low GI (55 or less) will make your blood glucose rise slowly and fall gently over a longer time. Ovaltine is manufactured locally in Melbourne Australia with imported and local ingredients.

Having one 200mL glass/mug of Ovaltine and milk helps meet the daily requirements as set out in the nutritional information panel, and supports a balanced diet.

Ovaltine Light Break has 8.9g per serve when prepared with water

Sugar is naturally occurring in milk (lactose) and malt extract (maltose) which are both ingredients of Ovaltine. There is a small amount of sugar provided by the maltodextrin. Lasting Energy and Light Break each contain added sugar from cane sugar.

Ovaltine Lasting Energy package design has been updated, but there are no changes to the product recipe.  Ovaltine Lasting Energy continues to be specially formulated with 8 vitamins & minerals and is low GI for lasting energy.
